Attention Parents of Beginner Students - (Periods 1, 3 or 4)
- A very few of you are still selecting instruments. This instrument selection will now be going on in class for the remaining students. We will select as we watch others begin making sounds on instruments and Mr. C will give your child a chance to try instruments during class time. Once those students have been assigned an instrument, Mr. C will send home a form with details on acquiring the instrument.
- If you are a parent of a student in the instrument selection process this week in class, please fill out the form (front/back) that will be sent home this week.
- If any beginner parent needs assistance with getting any equipment, please text Mr. C at his Google Office number (this is not his personal number) - 850.583.6989.
- Playing assignments from the book you purchase from a music store (Tradition of Excellence book for 3rd and 4th periods, both Fresh Approach books for 1st period) are now posted on - https://www.hobbsmsband.com/beginner-band-assignments.html
- The music store that Mr. C uses and that delivers to the band room is Playground Music - 850.243.2514
- The local Joyful Noise also carries books and equipment if you would like to visit them. But, they don't deliver to band room.
Local Private Lessons for students. Please contact the people Mr. C recommends below:

All Classes:
- Parents of returning students next year -- Your child's 4th quarter assignment scores are what determines next years class placement, either Symphonic (most Advanced) or Intermediate class. If your child chooses to use the recently passed out Jazz Audition sheet for next year, they may perform that piece for Mr. C in class anytime before last day of school. If a student scores high enough on Jazz audition, they will be placed in Jazz Band class as their SECOND ELECTIVE for next year. They must be in a primary band class, Symphonic or Intermediate, in order to be in Jazz next year.
- School owned instrument info for end of school year - If you are a returning student next year, keep your school-owned instrument over summer and sign the summer check-out form in band room. If you are an 8th grader or non-returning, make sure you turn in your school owned instrument to room 008 by the last day of school with your name taped on the case or instrument. Thank you.
