Summer Private Lessons
Summer Lessons are managed and operated by the Hobbs MS Band Booster Board, Inc.
Lessons are for those who show potential to work towards All-County or All-State band next school year, and for any students wanting to improve. You will need to provide transportation to and from the band room.

* ( A student should not attempt to audition for Florida All-State Band in September unless they are taking lessons privately elsewhere over the summer or from Mr. C in these summer lessons. Trying to work up the All-State materials at the start of the new school year will not work. )
2022 Hobbs Band Summer Private Lessons - For returning 2nd year and 3rd year students.
Dear Parent,
This year, summer private lessons will again be offered by Mr. Colón for returning students. Lessons are in the band room.
Lessons will run on the following 3 weeks of summer:

Lesson weeks: July 11th through July 29th. You will get to choose Mondays and Wednesdays, or Tuesdays and Thursdays of these weeks.

Lesson rate:
$125 for all 6 lessons during the three week period. (Reduced $25 since pre-pandemic summer, especially due to gas prices and transportation to/from lessons.) You pay here online. It will go directly into the Band Booster account. Please do not attempt to deliver anything to the HMS front office. If you are unable to register electronically, you may contact our Treasurer, Mrs. Gilbride at [email protected] for assistance.

If you need financial assistance with lessons, the financial assistance form in the link above must be filled out by May 23rd and hand delivered to Mr. C by your child or emailed to Mr. C at [email protected]. You will be contacted afterwards on how to register for your child's lessons.
You are paying a flat rate to reserve 6 half-hour slots, so you cannot pay per lesson. If you register by May 27th, it will help in scheduling everyone, which is very time-consuming to organize. This will also make it possible for you to receive your child’s assigned time via email during June. Make sure to type in your email correctly in this page's prompt. Make-ups for a student-missed lesson cannot be guaranteed but Mr. C will make every effort to try to do a make-up.
Please understand that every effort will be made to schedule your child as close to the time of day you've requested. All scheduling is done in order in which it was registered, so the sooner you register, the better chance at getting close to your desired time frame.
