Change in all scale requirements as of 4/13 - Submit on Teams a recording of you performing 2 scales (not 3) of choice at a time each week you choose to do scales as your assignment. Make sure your recording includes your name and whether you are performing it memorized or with music. 6th and 7th grade (and 8th grade in Intermediate) may use your old scale sheets. 8th grade in Symphonic must use the new scales below.
Below are new scale sheet that have all 12 major scales. (If you were in Symphonic last year, you may already have a copy. ) If you've never used this scale sheet before, please know that all 6th and 7th graders (and 8th graders who are in Intermediate class) will be graded on scales 12, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 on this sheet. (OR, the same thing as scales 1 through 7 on your old scale sheet). You can use either scale sheet to perform your assignments. This sheet may include some octaves that are not on your old sheet, which means a higher grade, more points, when you record yourself to perform them.
8th graders in Symphonic class - Your 4th quarter requirements will be from this new sheet below and will be scales 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 on this sheet. I will be recording an instructional video for these new scales.
