Thursday, March 9th Hobbs MS Symphonic Band Music Performance Assessment Itinerary Brass and woodwind Parents – Please avoid any orthodontia or dental work between now and March 9th. Thank you. Parents – We really need as many of you as possible in the audience at FWBHS auditorium at 4:15 p.m. on the 9th to support our young musicians! Hope to see you there! - 400 Hollywood Blvd., 32548. Parent chaperons have been selected and contacted in advance by Mrs. Preston.
3/8 - The day before MPA – Before 1st period, hand deliver your uniform to the band room uniform rack, labeled with name on garment bag. Boys, check that all parts are in garment bag – clean and hanging. 3/9 - Report to school wearing band polo shirt (this is a change from original sheet) Boys – Wear solid black shoes and black socks, girls – solid dark shoes (flats for comfort). Snacks and water will be provided for free on bus. Everyone go to 1st, 2nd and 3rd periods. 11:10 - All Symphonic students report to band room for roll call. 11:14 – 11:45 Everyone eat in lunch room during 7th grade lunch time. 11:50 – 12:15 Dress into full uniform. Use band storage rooms and restrooms in 7th grade hallway. Chaperons will help with this. 12:20 - 12:50 – Rehearse in full uniform. 12:55 – 1:15 - Everyone use rest rooms and put music into designated music boxes. Load large instruments into equipment truck. Percussion is responsible for all mallets, sticks and small items used for performance. If you are being picked up at FWBHS, bring your backpack to your seat. All others leave backpack in storage rooms. 1:20 – Everyone in your seat. Roll again before loading buses. Belongings/backpacks in band storage rooms if being picked up at Hobbs. If at FWBHS pickup, have at your seat. Final check for all equipment, music and roll call. 1:30 - Leave HMS. Additional snacks and water will be provided on the bus for free. 2:30 – Arrive at Ft. Walton Beach HS. Unload buses with chaperons for use of restrooms, small groups at a time. 2:45 – Unload all large equipment. Percussion stay with truck parents and your equipment. 3:20 - Woodwinds and brass - Line up for ready area. 3:40 – Enter Warm Up room for warm up and tuning. 4:15 – Perform on stage!!! 4:45 – Enter Sight Reading room. Sight Read! 5:10 – Exit sight reading to buses and wait for results. 5:15 – Time for parent pick-up at the bus for parents who are at FWBHS. (option A at bottom of this form) 5:20 – Bus exits FWBHS for Hobbs. Snacks and water will still be available on bus. 6:15 – Arrive @ Hobbs MS. (those riding back on bus, based on option B at bottom of this form)
